Insulation FAQs — Portland metro
What R-value should a Portland attic have?
For our climate, attics generally perform best around R-38 to R-60, walls R-13–R-23, and floors R-30 or higher. We measure what you have and recommend the right top-up.
Are there rebates for insulation right now?
Yes. Energy Trust of Oregon offers cash incentives on attic, wall and floor insulation for customers of PGE, Pacific Power, NW Natural and Cascade Natural Gas. Note: the federal 25C tax credit expired December 31, 2025. We confirm your eligibility on site.
Do you remove old insulation?
We do — including insulation damaged by rodents, water or mold. We remove it, sanitize the space, then re-insulate to current standards.
How long does a typical job take?
Most attic and crawl space projects are completed in a single day, and we leave the space clean.
